This reminds me of the quote: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity" - Seneca

I love how you included effort and risk in your equation too 💟

I think risk is one of the most important elements here because you can only feel like you've been "lucky" if you took some sort of risk and stepped into the unknown. If the outcome were certain, it wouldn't really feel like "luck" because you already expected it to happen.

Personally though, the word "faith" resonates with me more than 'luck' because it adds an element of 'trust' in myself and God. I rarely feel like I'm "unlucky" because even in the not-so-good times, I have faith that I can get through it and I'm able to find reasons to be grateful despite the challenges I'm facing 😊

Yes it does doesn't it, I have heard it before and was probably subconsciously influenced by it when thinking of my formula. I'd have included it if I had remembered it!

I think that reframing luck as faith also works very well. It adds an element of confidence to the mix rather than hope. Faith that after you've done all you can you're confident that it will work out Vs just hoping that it does.

I am in the embracing discomfort stage. I appreciate this wisdom and am in process of making my own luck with writing my book. I'm intensely curious about what is on the other side of this monumental task! Love, Virg.

You are on your way Virg, I'm sure that writing your book is outside of your comfort zone and you're also putting the luck formula into action!

Stay curious, keep seeking discomfort and and be lucky!

I love a good formula

Me too, there's something comforting to me about being able to make a process "Logical" and formalising it. Then you've got stepping stones to walk on.

Thanks for reading Jo

Loved seeing two of the most inspiring for me to come together and throw some light at an intriguing topic. Really liked your breakdown of breakdown and that equation is gonna stick for long. Most of us think of luck as the blind one. But you greatly explored its other side. I see luck as something within our "occasional" control. Superp, Mark & Moon.

It probably goes a long way to proving that we're on the right track to making our own luck, we've got the knowledge, let's go make it happen!

Thanks for suggesting such a fun collaboration and well done for being able to do it in such a short time, if I had a deadline like you did I'm not sure I would have enjoyed writing it quite so much!

My brain acts like a pressure cooker sometimes, the tighter the deadline, the faster it worked. But even I'm surprised that it got out so smoothly, it's a topic that's been circulating in my mind for a long time, and you've just lit that fuse.

I really love this collaboration, seeing us on the same wavelength, it's an awesome feeling!

It is like a pressure cooker sometimes. I've got so much going on in it sometimes. We're really not helping ourselves by our next venture when it comes to that 😂

It was a great idea, here's to many more 💡

We chinese love to cook soups, and a good one can take more than 6 hours to simmer and extract the essence, but with a pressure cooker, the time is much reduced.

So now, let's reframe our mindset, pressure cook our ideas and get a full-flavoured dish of published post!

It feels like my writing is like the traditional sense, it takes me ages, reducing and reducing over time. One day I'll get the pressure cooker, but I've got to “save up for it” by paying my dues to get there.
