For most of my life, I was afraid to fail. Growing up, my brother and I weren’t allowed to. We had to be 'perfect.' It took me 40 years to learn I’ll never be perfect (better late than never, right?).
Writing for a living has been a leap I took despite all these insecurities. I may never 'get there,' but already, just being here among such incredible people, I know I haven’t failed.
Your project is a beautiful reminder that taking action is what truly matters.
Mark, you never fail to surprise me with your creativity and lovely ideas. If I find a Note to Nobody, I would treat it like a treasure find. Things written from the heart should be cherished by the heart. The next time I return library books, I will be sure to leave a note inside for the next reader!
I will also be joining the challenge and taking action. I am taking your notebook idea and going to leave one each strategically planted. I'll share the result. This is not my Kaleidoscope entry, on the contrary, I'm just piggy-backing on yours so to speak. Thanks for this great idea! <3 Virg
Sometimes I'll wake up in the morning and write pages about an idea I have, but executing is another thing entirely. I always think there's someone out there who could do it better than me, which while technically true is not a reason to not do things.
I think you just made me realize that it's also a fear of being seen. Thank you for the insight.
Kudos to you for bravely taking the next step to make your lovely idea a reality!
Thanks Lisa, there might be someone better at executing, but they might not have any ideas, start doing and maybe you’ll find someone to team up with down the line! Or, maybe you’ll realise that you are the best one to start putting your plans into practice and your confidence in yourself will grow over time. Either way is fine, and you’ll be taking action!
Love the idea of Notes to Nobody Mark. I would love to stumble into one, but I don’t go into the library often. However, I do agree with you that taking action is so important—doing what you want to do and not tying your effort to an expected outcome removes all expectations
I do think many more people would take action if they knew their efforts would lead to a certain outcome. It’s about having the guarantee that what you do will lead you somewhere better. People don’t like wasting time on something if they don’t know where it will lead
But you will never know if you don’t try, so I love that you’re trying through your project. Very creative and fun! You never know where it might lead!
I don’t really visit the library very often, but I do like that it’s a neutral place that I can go, where I can plug my computer in and not have the distractions I do at home.
The added attraction of seeing if the notebook is still there and if it is, if anyone else has added to it should hopefully encourage me to visit a little more often.

Thank you for sharing it, Mark :)
Definitely better late than never Dom, glad it came eventually!
Thanks for reading.

Thanks Moon, that's actually a much easier way to leave notes than leaving a full notebook! Great idea 💡
Short and sweet is my style!
And I usually end up taking the long way around, in this case it’s no different!
Me too Moon :) I forgot to mention it in my comment!

That’s great Virg! On both counts! Piggy back away!

I have so many things still incubating (/languishing) in the idea phase, waiting for a dollop of action 😅
I suppose it's better than the problem of having nothing in the incubator phase!
Notes to nobody! How beautiful!

What a fun idea! It's like the self-help support mindful version of the googly eyes (if you've seen that on the socials).
Haha yes I have seen the eyes around. I've also seen the tiny little rubber ducks and frogs that people leave in unexpected places.
Thanks for reading Leo.
